Tools with a proxy setting of their own
These run in the cloud or as a desktop program and let you enter a proxy for each account. Without one, a cloud tool logs in to your account from its own servers, wherever those are.
Browser extensions
An extension works inside your browser and uses its connection. There is no proxy to enter in the extension. If you run one account from your own computer, you may need no proxy at all. If you run several, each needs its own browser profile with its own proxy.
The guides
- PhantomBusterPhantomBuster runs ready-made automations, called Phantoms, in the cloud. Because they do not run on your computer, they do not use your IP address unless you give them a proxy.
- HeyReachHeyReach is a LinkedIn outreach platform for running many sender accounts. Each connected account can be given a custom proxy.
- TexAuTexAu automates prospecting and data collection on LinkedIn and other platforms. Proxies are added once to the workspace and then used by its automations.
- Linked HelperLinked Helper is a desktop program for LinkedIn outreach. It runs on your computer and can open each LinkedIn account through its own proxy.
- Dux-SoupDux-Soup is a browser extension that automates LinkedIn visits, connection requests and messages from your own browser.
- WaalaxyWaalaxy automates LinkedIn and email outreach. It started as a Chrome extension that works through your own browser session.
- Octopus CRMOctopus CRM is a Chrome extension for LinkedIn outreach: connection requests, messages and simple funnels, run from your browser.
- SalesforgeSalesforge is an outreach platform for email and LinkedIn. When you connect a LinkedIn account, it can use a proxy that you supply.
Contact databases
Apollo.io, Hunter, Lusha, Kaspr, Skrapp, Snov.io, RocketReach and ZoomInfo are looked up through their own websites and extensions. A proxy only matters there if you work with several accounts in separate browser profiles.
Closed cloud tools
Some outreach platforms, such as Expandi, Dripify, Zopto, MeetAlfred and Salesflow, run entirely on their own servers. Whether you can supply your own proxy depends on the tool and the plan, so ask before you sign up.
The rule for accounts
One account, one steady address, in the account's own country. See one proxy per account. Outreach platforms have limits on automated activity; staying inside them matters more than any proxy.
