What is geo-targeting in proxies?

Geo-targeting means choosing the country, state or city your proxy request leaves from, so a website shows what local visitors see there.

Websites change by place: prices, language, stock, search results, which adverts run. To see a page as a visitor in Munich does, the request has to come from an address in Munich.

On PiratProxies the place is written into the username. A two-letter country code selects the country on most plans. Residential plans can also select a state and a city. Location databases do not always agree with each other, so check an address with more than one before deciding a proxy is in the wrong place.
