How to set up a proxy in Dolphin Anty

Dolphin Anty is an antidetect browser widely used by affiliate marketing and media buying teams. Profiles can be tagged, given a status and shared between team members.

Why Dolphin Anty needs a proxy

Ad platforms compare the IP addresses of the accounts they see. A Dolphin Anty profile without its own proxy shares your address with every other profile.

Which proxy to use

Residential proxies suit most advertising accounts. Many teams use mobile proxies for social platforms, since those platforms see most of their real users on carrier networks.

What to enter

A PiratProxies plan gives you four things: a host, a port, a username and a password. These are the values for Residential; the username and password are on your plan page.

Hostresi.piratproxies.com
HTTP port8080
SOCKS5 port1080
UsernameUSERNAME
Passwordfrom your plan page

As one line:

resi.piratproxies.com:8080:USERNAME:PASSWORD

The country and the session are chosen in the username, not in a separate setting. The generator on your plan page writes the username for you, and Targeting and sessions explains each part.

Steps

  1. Click Create profile.
  2. Go to the proxy block and choose New proxy and choose a custom proxy. Set the type to HTTP (port 8080) or SOCKS5 (port 1080).
  3. Paste the whole line resi.piratproxies.com:8080:USERNAME:PASSWORD into the host field. The port, username and password fill in by themselves. If they do not, type them into their own fields.
  4. Press the connection check. It should come back with an IP address in the country you chose in the username.
  5. Dolphin Anty keeps proxies in a list of their own, so a saved proxy can be picked again later. Do not attach one saved proxy to two profiles.
  6. Save the profile and start it. Open an IP-check page inside the profile to confirm the address once more.

Menu names can differ a little between versions of Dolphin Anty. The four values to enter are always the same.

Rotating or sticky

Give each Dolphin Anty profile a sticky session of its own, so the profile comes back from the same IP address each time it is opened. One profile, one session ID: a session ID shared by two profiles gives them the same address, which links them. Rotating on every request suits scraping, not an account that is meant to look like one person.

A sticky username looks like this:

USERNAME-country-us-time-600-session-a1b2c3d4

If it does not work

  • Dolphin Anty accepts several one-line formats. resi.piratproxies.com:8080:USERNAME:PASSWORD is the safest one to paste.
  • Generate a new fingerprint after changing the proxy's country, so the profile's timezone and language follow it.
  • A 407 error means the username or password was not accepted. Copy both again from your plan page, and check that nothing added a space or cut the username short.
  • If the IP address is in the wrong country, look at the username: the country code is part of it. More fixes.
