How to set up a proxy in GoLogin

Why GoLogin needs a proxy

GoLogin separates cookies and fingerprints between profiles. The IP address is separate only if each profile has a proxy of its own.

Which proxy to use

Use residential proxies with a sticky session for each GoLogin profile. For social apps that expect a phone, mobile proxies are the safer match.

What to enter

A PiratProxies plan gives you four things: a host, a port, a username and a password. These are the values for Residential; the username and password are on your plan page.

As one line:

resi.piratproxies.com:8080:USERNAME:PASSWORD

The country and the session are chosen in the username, not in a separate setting. The generator on your plan page writes the username for you, and Targeting and sessions explains each part.

Steps

1. Click Add profile, or open a profile's settings.
2. Go to the Proxy tab and choose a custom proxy. Set the type to HTTP (port 8080) or SOCKS5 (port 1080).
3. Paste the whole line resi.piratproxies.com:8080:USERNAME:PASSWORD into the host field. The port, username and password fill in by themselves. If they do not, type them into their own fields.
4. Press Check proxy. It should come back with an IP address in the country you chose in the username.
5. Save the profile and start it. Open an IP-check page inside the profile to confirm the address once more.

Menu names can differ a little between versions of GoLogin. The four values to enter are always the same.

Rotating or sticky

Give each GoLogin profile a sticky session of its own, so the profile comes back from the same IP address each time it is opened. One profile, one session ID: a session ID shared by two profiles gives them the same address, which links them. Rotating on every request suits scraping, not an account that is meant to look like one person.

A sticky username looks like this:

If it does not work

• If a shared profile is opened by two people at the same moment, both sessions fight over one IP. Open a profile in one place at a time.
• GoLogin can set timezone and geolocation from the IP address. Leave those options on so they match the proxy.
• A 407 error means the username or password was not accepted. Copy both again from your plan page, and check that nothing added a space or cut the username short.
• If the IP address is in the wrong country, look at the username: the country code is part of it. More fixes.
