Why 2Captcha needs a proxy
Many sites tie a captcha token to the IP address that asked for it. If the service solves from its own address and you submit from yours, the token can be refused. Passing your proxy to the service makes both come from one address.
Which proxy to use
Use a residential proxy with a sticky session, and use the very same username in your own client. Mobile proxies work the same way where a site expects phone traffic.
What to enter
A PiratProxies plan gives you four things: a host, a port, a username and a password. These are the values for Residential; the username and password are on your plan page.
| Host | resi.piratproxies.com |
|---|---|
| HTTP port | 8080 |
| SOCKS5 port | 1080 |
| Username | USERNAME |
| Password | from your plan page |
The country and the session are chosen in the username, not in a separate setting. The generator on your plan page writes the username for you, and Targeting and sessions explains each part.
Steps
- Choose the version of the task that takes a proxy. The ones ending in
Proxylessuse 2Captcha's own IP addresses instead. - Fill in
proxyType,proxyAddress,proxyPort,proxyLoginandproxyPasswordin the task. - Send your own request, the one that submits the token, through the same proxy with the same sticky username.
Example
The proxy part of a task
curl -s https://api.2captcha.com/createTask -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{
"clientKey": "YOUR_API_KEY",
"task": {
"type": "RecaptchaV2Task",
"websiteURL": "https://example.com/login",
"websiteKey": "SITE_KEY",
"proxyType": "http",
"proxyAddress": "resi.piratproxies.com",
"proxyPort": 8080,
"proxyLogin": "USERNAME-country-us-time-600-session-a1b2c3d4",
"proxyPassword": "PASSWORD"
}
}'Replace USERNAME and PASSWORD with the login from your plan page. The example asks an IP-check address, so the output is the address your request left from.
Rotating or sticky
Use a sticky session, and give 2Captcha exactly the same username you use for your own requests. The session ID in the username is what keeps both on one IP address. With a rotating username the token is solved from one address and submitted from another, and sites that check this reject it.
A sticky username looks like this:
USERNAME-country-us-time-600-session-a1b2c3d4If it does not work
- The older
in.phpendpoint takes the proxy asproxy=USERNAME:PASSWORD@resi.piratproxies.com:8080together withproxytype=HTTP. - If a task fails with a proxy error, test the same line with curl first. A proxy that works in curl and fails in the task usually has a typing mistake in one field.
- A
407error means the username or password was not accepted. Copy both again from your plan page, and check that nothing added a space or cut the username short. - If the IP address is in the wrong country, look at the username: the country code is part of it. More fixes.
Questions
Do I always need my own proxy with 2Captcha?
No. Proxyless tasks are solved from 2Captcha's own addresses and are enough for many sites. Pass your proxy when a site rejects tokens that were solved from a different IP address.
Which PiratProxies proxy should I use with 2Captcha?
Use a residential proxy with a sticky session, and use the very same username in your own client. Mobile proxies work the same way where a site expects phone traffic.
2Captcha is a product of its own makers. PiratProxies is not affiliated with it; the name is used here only to say what this guide is about. Use it within the rules of the sites you work with and our acceptable use policy.
