How to set up a proxy in Multilogin

Multilogin is one of the longest-established antidetect browsers. It runs profiles on two engines of its own, Mimic (Chromium) and Stealthfox (Firefox), and every profile can carry its own proxy.

Why Multilogin needs a proxy

A Multilogin profile hides the browser, not the network. Without a proxy, every profile still leaves from your own IP address, and that one shared address ties the profiles together.

Which proxy to use

Residential proxies fit most Multilogin work, because the IP address looks like a home connection in the country you pick. Choose mobile proxies for accounts that are mostly used from phones.

What to enter

A PiratProxies plan gives you four things: a host, a port, a username and a password. These are the values for Residential; the username and password are on your plan page.

Hostresi.piratproxies.com
HTTP port8080
SOCKS5 port1080
UsernameUSERNAME
Passwordfrom your plan page

As one line:

resi.piratproxies.com:8080:USERNAME:PASSWORD

The country and the session are chosen in the username, not in a separate setting. The generator on your plan page writes the username for you, and Targeting and sessions explains each part.

Steps

  1. Create a profile, or open an existing one for editing.
  2. Go to the Proxy section and choose a custom proxy. Set the type to HTTP (port 8080) or SOCKS5 (port 1080).
  3. Paste the whole line resi.piratproxies.com:8080:USERNAME:PASSWORD into the host field. The port, username and password fill in by themselves. If they do not, type them into their own fields.
  4. Press Check proxy. It should come back with an IP address in the country you chose in the username.
  5. Save the profile and start it. Open an IP-check page inside the profile to confirm the address once more.

Menu names can differ a little between versions of Multilogin. The four values to enter are always the same.

Rotating or sticky

Give each Multilogin profile a sticky session of its own, so the profile comes back from the same IP address each time it is opened. One profile, one session ID: a session ID shared by two profiles gives them the same address, which links them. Rotating on every request suits scraping, not an account that is meant to look like one person.

A sticky username looks like this:

USERNAME-country-us-time-600-session-a1b2c3d4

If it does not work

  • Multilogin reads a pasted line as IP:port:login:password. If your line is in another order, the fields fill in wrongly: paste it in exactly that order.
  • Leave timezone, language and WebRTC on their automatic settings so they follow the proxy's country.
  • A 407 error means the username or password was not accepted. Copy both again from your plan page, and check that nothing added a space or cut the username short.
  • If the IP address is in the wrong country, look at the username: the country code is part of it. More fixes.

Questions

Can I paste the proxy as one line in Multilogin?

Yes. In the custom proxy form, paste resi.piratproxies.com:8080:USERNAME:PASSWORD into the host field and Multilogin splits it into host, port, login and password.

Does Multilogin work with SOCKS5 proxies?

Yes. Use port 1080 and the same username and password.

Which PiratProxies proxy should I use with Multilogin?

Residential proxies fit most Multilogin work, because the IP address looks like a home connection in the country you pick. Choose mobile proxies for accounts that are mostly used from phones.

Multilogin is a product of its own makers. PiratProxies is not affiliated with it; the name is used here only to say what this guide is about. Use it within the rules of the sites you work with and our acceptable use policy.
